| General |
Residential and Commercial Reverse Osmosis Systems are designed to
handle low salinity water, ranging from Tap to Brackish Water.
These Point-of-Use systems provide high quality drinking water
for homes, offices, restaurants, etc. There are two types of
membrane elements being used in these systems, Cellulose Tri Acetate (CTA)
and Thin Film Composite (TFC). There is no chemical
treatment involved in these systems. Pretreatment is limited to
Sediment and Chlorine removal while Post Treatment is restricted to Odor
removal and Taste improvement. For Residential RO systems that operate on Tap water,
line pressure is normally sufficient to produce permeate (50-80 psig is
normally required). Where there is not enough feed pressure, or
for the Commercial RO Systems, Booster pumps are typically utilized to
produce permeate. Capacities range from 10 to 100 gpd.
